I’m always looking for ways to be more efficient when I travel when it comes to travel gear. One area I’ve always been lacking is in cable and device management. When it comes time to go on a trip, I’m usually spending forever tracking down all the cords and devices that I take with me.
With this in mind, I’ve been looking for a simple way to have something that I can grab and go with that will hold all my gear.
After doing quite a lot of research, I decided to give Skooba Design’s Cable Stable DLX a try.
The first I noticed was the sturdy design of the Cable Stable DLX. It feels as if anything inside will be protected while traveling. There is a sturdy zipper that keeps it closed.
Once you open it up, on the left you have several storage compartments. The lower compartment has a mesh exterior with a zipper that keeps everything intact. I will usually put any medicine and travel adapters in this compartment.
The top part is also mesh, but with an opening at the top that I like to use for an ethernet cord and ipod / iphone chargers.
The right side has plenty of places for digital camera, ipods, iphones, or any other digital device with a sturdy strap to keep it in place.
The middle section has straps to hold batteries, pens, or USB drives.
Lastly, the exterior has another outer pocket with a zipper where I store the movies that I’m going to watch on my trip.
I took this with me on my last trip to the Maldives. The Cable Stable DLX fits all of my needs for cable and device management while traveling. It also fits neatly into my Tom Bihn Checkpoint Flyer. At $40, I can highly recommend the Skooba Cable Stable DLX for a sturdy yet lightweight travel companion.
