I had two free nights from the Chase Hyatt Credit Card and was decided to use them in conjunction with a paid stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.
At check-in, I was upgraded to a Deluxe Ocean View Room on the sixth floor – room 6007 – due to my Diamond status.
The room was quite the hike away due to how expansive this property is. I used MapMyFitness to document how far away it was from the lobby – .45 miles away.
The main attraction of the room is the breathtaking view.
The pool was extremely large and had a waterslide.
We spent hours and hours at the pool. There were many shade spots and the slide was fast enough where it made it entertaining to go down it over and over.
There is also a private pool at the spa and gym.
Each time we went to the gym, we didn’t see anyone at the private pool.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa is a gorgeous property that is massively huge and has a lot of the features that I like in a resort. It has an expansive pool with plenty of seating so you don’t have to rush to save a seat as well as numerous shade options, slides, and multiple pools. The pool is tranquil and the there is a full workout area, spa, and plenty of space to stretch out and relax. I had no issues during my entire stay and would return to this property without hesitation.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai is the best hotel on Kauai, so I probably should not say anything. But I must question the reviewer’s credibility.
All one has to do go up to the 6th (or any) floor of the hotel. Today, the carpet in the hallway is totally different than what is shown in the photos. Even the photo of the “do not disturb” door hanging is from times past. I assumed the July 17 date for the post means the review is to reflect a recent stay at this hotel. It is impossible for all of the photos provided to be from a recent stay. Which could lead me to question everything about the review.
I don’t know whether this is a stunt from the GHK (reviewer published photos provided by the hotel with glowing reasons to stay at the hotel) or were generated by a trip the reviewer made to the hotel several years ago. But as a person who reads these blogs, I’m expecting a timely, honest review of the subject being discussed. I believe the fact the visual information provided by the reviewer doesn’t reflect the current situation dampens the credibility of the review, which is shown as July 17, 2016. Impossible if this was a recent stay!
We love the Grand Hyatt Kauai and stay there every time we visit the island.
It’s one of our favorite vacation destinations and we need to plan another trip back soon!
I spent five days here.on a recent work trip. Its one of the few properties with direct beach access. I recommend going for a pool view room of you want to be close to everything.
@jd – great advice!
How was the beach? I prefer ocean then the pool
@russell – splendid. they have a private entrance to their own beach. Will put some pics up.
Stayed here two weeks ago. Absolutely fantastic property especially the Grand Club. Will definitely return.
Does this property have a Grand club for diamonds?
@jakepb – they do, will review it tomorrow!
Thanks for doing this post! I am going there next spring and can’t wait. Were you able to confirm an upgrade before you arrived or did you just hope for an upgrade at check in? Did you choose points or a diamond amenity at check in?
Great photos!
@quesera – I just had to hope for an upgrade at checkin. I looked on the app prior to checkin just to see what rooms were available just in case. I chose points. Thanks!
