I just completed a stay at the Hilton Anaheim. I went there as a Diamond member thanks to the American Express Surpass Card, but had very low expectations as far as extra benefits are concerned due to the research I had done online.
There is no longer an Executive Lounge at this property nor any Executive Rooms to be upgraded to. I received a normal room on the 10th floor. I also received several coupons to Starbucks for 1 free breakfast item and 1 free beverage. The breakfast items consisted of scones, muffins, oatmeal, and the like. There were no hot breakfast choices. You also could redeem the coupon at the MIX Restaurant for their breakfast buffet – however, this gives you only a $6 discount off the $21 buffet price.
I did receive free Internet access for the duration of the stay and free access to the Health Club. The Health Club was very large, with lots of treadmills, stair machines, a full court basketball court (albeit an odd shaped one), a pool, a hot tub, a couple of exercise class rooms, along with a men’s and women’s locker room.
Each treadmill and stair machine had it’s own TV that you could plug headphones into. The Health Club access normally runs $14 a day.
There were several restaurants within walking distance of the propety including Morten’s, Ruth’s Chris, and PF Changs to name a few. Disneyland is about a 15 minute walk from the propety.
Overall, it was a nice property with some good amenities but I was disappointed with the lack of extra benefits as a Diamond member.
