Kanye West recently performed over the PA on a Delta flight from Minneapolis to New York. He performed a mix of “Gold Digger” and “The Good Life’.
Those songs are great but they aren’t really that travel related. So I started to think – what should he have performed instead? Here are my top five:
1. The Smith – Panic
Panic on the streets of London – Panic on the streets of Birmingham (Note: My last trip to London, I couldn’t get these lyrics out of head)
2. A Camp – Frequent Flyer. Nina Persson from the Cardigans’ solo project.
“Would you help me pack my bags, I might be leaving, I need some sweet assistance, while I’m stealing, some of your time.”
3. Talking Heads – Road to Nowhere
“There’s a city in my mind, Come along and take that ride”

4. Roger Miller – “King of the Road”
I’m a man of means by no means – King of the road.
5. Dmitri from Paris – Sacre Francais

Any that I’m missing?
Early Morning Rain by Gordon Lightfoot
…Hear the mighty engines roar
See the silver wing on high
She’s away and westward bound
For above the clouds she flies
Where the mornin’ rain don’t fall
And the sun always shines
She’ll be flying over my home
In about three hours time…
