Gary from View from the Wing posted a while back about getting free mid-tier Voyager status in the 1865 club (the year the The Langham hotel opened in London). Benefits include complimentary internet, welcome amenity, room upgrade and late check out of 6 pm, and free access to the hotel health club facilities.
I thought I would post what the welcome kit looked like as I decided the join the club.
A very sleek cover with a very nice tied ribbon.
A very nice leather luggage tag with a snap cover to put a business card inside to keep your bags from getting lost.
A letter inside states “Maintaining your membership status is easy. Just stay at least twice in our participating hotels in the coming twelve months.”
Has anyone had any experiences with Langham hotels that they can share?

Gonna have 2 stays in Shanghai this year, will let you guys know how it goes.
I’ve stayed a few times at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena (and previously, when it was still a Ritz-Carlton). The experience has always been a bit uneven, and I don’t know whether that’s the hotel’s fault or Langham’s.
For example, housekeeping, quality of toiletries, and food at the restaurant: great. But nowhere in my room or my family’s rooms (we stay en masse) was there even a simple notepad and pen, not even next to the phone. Why skimp so strangely in such an opulent place? During one stay, my parents booked a suite, and there was a bowl of saltwater taffy. But… it was stale as all-get-out. Huh? It’s this attention to detail that seems lacking.
That being said, all our personal interactions at that property have always been great, and the hotel’s in good repair and very beautiful indeed. I’d like to try the London and Hong Kong properties for comparison’s sake, if nothing else.
