President Obama visited Salt Lake City last April and decided to stay at the Sheraton in downtown Salt Lake City.

It was an interesting choice especially considering the 5 star Grand America is just around the corner. Some locals opined that the Sheraton was selected because there were plenty of rooms available as no one really stays there.
Vice President Joe Biden is visiting Salt Lake City today to tour the Huntsman Cancer institute to discuss the White House initiative to cure cancer. Biden, however, decided to stay at the Hotel Monaco, a swanky, 4 star boutique hotel, that I stayed at back in 2012.

Regardless of which side of the aisle you are on politically, any additional attention or resources given towards cancer research and cure is money well spent.
