A man climbed onto an Alaska Air airplane wing as passengers watched in horror. The Alaska Airlines flight was about to depart Las Vegas for Portland Oregon.
Investigators believe the man jumped a fence in order to gain access to the plane.

Officers gained access to the airplane wing and tried to approach the man when he fell off the wing onto the concrete below.

It is believed that the man suffers from mental illness.
The plane returned to the gate where the plane was inspected before ultimately being allowed to depart about 5 hours later.
