A user on TikTok filmed his experience during a boarding of Spirit Airlines. He asked the gate agent how much he was being charged because his skateboard was over the allotted size limit. The gate agent told him it would be $89. For good measure, he took his skateboard over to the measuring device to confirm that it was too long.

He then put the skateboard on the ground and stopped on it, cracking it in half. He then took the cracked skateboard and tried to measure it again. This time it fit.
“That was unnecessary sir” proclaimed the gate agent.
The user ends the video saying that a flight attendant brought him some treats and said that they were sorry the airline made him do that.
