I received a car rental confirmation on one of my email addresses from Carrentals.com. It was a reservation in someone’s name.
My first reaction was – that person probably is wondering where their car rental reservation is and I thought about perhaps calling them to notify them. The other part of me wonders if it is just some sort of phishing scam and so I chose to just ignore figuring at some point they would perhaps call themselves and sort it out. At the very least, when they pick the car up, perhaps they would change it.
I can’t seem however to let it go and I’m wondering now if I should just call them and tell them. What would you do?
Check the URLs on the links by hovering over them without clicking. If the domain doesn’t look right it’s probably phishing.
I am beginning to think this is a part of a phishing scam. In the last 60 days I’ve had someone elses airline itinerary sent to me along with someone elses car rental reservation, and a hotel reservation. The part that makes it confusing however is that I did have reservations with the airline, the car rental company, and the hotel. But in the last several years I’ve never had this happen and then recently just a surge in incorrect reservations.
@stylo – interesting, maybe it is that
Are you sure that your email or rental car account hasn’t been hacked?
Omg, the sky is falling……..
