Cafe Jamban in the city of Semarang, Indonesia serves food to their patrons in squat toilets. The word “Jamban” mean literally, toilet, in Indonesian.
Before you think about just simply walking into the restaurant and eating, please note that it is only available to those who book ahead.
The owner of the restaurant ensures all guests that the food is completely hygienic.
No word yet on if he plans to expand his business to Paris and open up Cafe Latrine.
Sounds like a spinoff of the popular Modern Toilet restaurants from Taiwan. 🙂 The food was actually surprisingly decent at the Taipei location, though slightly pricey due to the “novelty fee.”
