Amazing $400 airfares from Boston to Stockholm May-August on multiple carriers

I’m taking my oldest daughter in high school on her very first overseas flight. I let her pick the destination and she’s always wanted to return to the country where her ancestors are from – Sweden.

I’ve been looking for some decent airfares from various East Coast cities and discovered that the Boston to Stockholm route hovers around the $400 and below from pretty much the entire four month period of May-August

Searching for stays between 6-10 days, there are multiple $400 fares on multiple carriers in May.

It’s similarly wide open in June.

If you change the search to 7 days or more in July and August, similar fares all over on multiple carriers.

I also saw some good fares from JFK, but not with as consistent dates as Boston.

I had applied for the Citi Prestige Card last June in order to save $100 by spending $450and wanted to use my Thank You points and annual $250 airline reimbursement for this trip.

Normally the best value is flying on American Airlines with Thank You Points. Considering these low fares on Delta and Air France flights, I was able to use all of my points for 2 tickets from Boston with less than $100 out of pocket cost and used my $250 airline reimbursement for 2017 for the Salt Lake City to Boston positioning flights.

There are so many activities and things to do in Stockholm. I plan on going to the new Viking Museum which is set to open April 29th on Djurgården.

For the really daring, there’s even a hot air balloon

I can’t wait for my daughter to experience all the cool things that Sweden has to offer.
