This morning we headed out to a state park for some more scenery – the Iao Valley. The Iao Needle is taller than the Eiffel Tower.
Lunch was at the Lahaina Pizza Company which used to be the home of BJs Pizza a long time ago. The menu seems quite similar to BJs, with deep dish pizzas galore and even the Pizzuki – a huge fresh baked cookie topped with ice cream. We chose the The Works with homemade meatballs, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushroom, green pepper, black olives and sweet onions. The food was delicious and very much worth a return trip.
The rest of the day was spent hanging out at the Sheraton. With that much pool space and beach nearby, there wasn’t any reason to go anywhere else. I went up to the top floor on Black Rock to take these pictures so that you can see a bird’s eye view of the resort.
@ Kate – totally agree with you. But I would add banana bread and shaved ice to the list. Ahh, the memories!
Oh I miss Maui and the roosters in the streets. I was there 2 years ago. Very nice pics!
Hawaii is so underrated……..US security and so easy to get to……..and Maui has such great waterfalls and helicopter rides……….
The only thing I found annoying were the fact that the roosters are frickin everywhere…….and WHY? Well the frickin hurricane came thru and blew all the cage doors open and it has well… been all downhill from there……..and if you are on aloha time then you are just never going to catch all of them……..
