A new economy plane design

The Daily Mail has an article on a proposed new configuration for airplanes that would allow people to be packed in a lot more than they are now. While it seems highly unlikely that the bigger airlines could get away with this, it wouldn’t surprise me if someone like Ryanair or EasyJet tried this.
